Mariah was born in her mothers apartment on September 28th, 2008. The mother gave birth alone with no help. Approximately 2 hours later the mother left Mariah, then known as Autumn Doe on the steps of the Federal Way Presbyterian Church at 2 am, wrapped in the birthing towel. The baby laid there till 8 am, almost 6 hours later until she was discovered by a member of the church who arrived early for band practice. She was hypothermic and was immediately transferred to St. Francis Hospital where she was cleaned up and stabilized. She was then transferred to St. Joseph Hospital for further testing and examination by medical staff. Despite being abandoned, she was completely healthy and perfect in every way.

Mariah Verle Stevens is being taken care of by the biological father and his wonderful family. 5 generations of her family are surrounding her with love and affection, and she is being spoiled rotten. She truly is a miracle baby and is the most wonderful thing to happen to our family. We thank God every day that she is healthy and perfect and loved.
